Started out playing music/ live instruments as far back as I can remember. My Grandparents were born and raised in Hollywood and grew up in showbiz, predating the 50’s. Shortly after, around the time they met and had both settled on delivering entertainment and broadcasting their voices and the news over the air.
As if success wasn’t enough for them, they packed their bags and made their way north to the future? It was Alaska they sought after, and the timeline was about late 50’s/early 60’s. They landed in a place far from home, to become the sound wave pioneers of the frigid last frontier.

About 15 years later after much success here in and ever so rapidly growing the family brand, it was my Uncle that had enough and wanted a different kind of growth and prosperity. So in the middle of high school he ventured off to HI to finish up his academics while at the same time, able to broaden his horizons in the music industry, oh and catch gnarly swells. So he got into a different side of the music scene than what the Harpel family had been accustomed to. He was after a certain sound and lifestyle of the 70’s that was just lacking in the ol’ cold AK. After HI, he made his way back to LA to become what he had strived for, to have an LA music studio and be a music producer.

Meanwhile back in the frozen tundras, my parents ended up taking over the family radio stations here in AK, and thus not long after that, a newly born musician enters the scene in full swing.

Music has always been everywhere and a part of me dating back to before I was born. Growing up, and still to this day, I surround myself with sound and rhythm, mainly to keep my sanity, but also to fulfill the empty void of passion and striving for one’s own self worth. Only now instead of a kid playing live instruments in hopeless bands, I get to do it all and really let the musician side of me take off at full speed.
